A NOTE FROM JIM SIMPSON:

I've been working on and with cars since I was 13 years old.  I served a 3-year formal European-style apprenticeship under Herman Krause and Hasso Schroder, followed by a 2-year formal Ferrari apprenticeship under Sidney Simpson (no relation) at Simpson Automobili, Ferrari Sales and Service in Houston Texas.

I branched out from my work as a master mechanic to learn body working skills, including metal shaping, and have been a panel beater and metal worker for well over 20 years.  My interests also include automotive design.  You can see some of my work at Simpson Design.    

I've been proud to be the Chief Concours Judge for the Classy Chassis Concours in Houston Texas for the last 10 years. I am also a nominated Pebble Beach Judge and have served on other car show judging teams across the country, including the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance.  Whether you have a restoration project in mind, are looking to buy or sell a classic, or have a question, I'd love to hear from you.
